Adirondack chairs - comfort and timeless style

Adirondack chairs have been around for over a century, but its timeless design is still as popular as ever among those of us who are looking for a pleasant and relaxing outdoor furniture. The original Adirondack chair was invented in 1903 a man named Thomas Lee while on holiday with his family in Westport, New York. A simple but robust, which contains the characteristic broad armrests and sloping rear, was patented by Harry Bunnell, who has called this new style of chairs outside, after the nearby Adirondack region. He went on to successfully sell Adirondack chairs made from summer vacation staple of Westport residents over the next 20 years. And the classic design is still the favorite to this day.

The enduring appeal of Adirondack furniture is that not only looks good in almost any environment for recreation, gardens, porches, patios, decks, is also very comfortable to sit in. Adirondack chairs are made of different types of wood, including cedar, teak and mahogany. The wood can be left to weather naturally, stained to preserve its natural color or painted in the color you choose. Alternative modern chairs are virtually maintenance free recycled plastic lumber that look incredibly real.

These days, the original design was adapted to create different styles of furniture, including Adirondack rocking chairs and swings. Lounge chairs with cushions for extra comfort, is a favorite, which is all-in-one style that comes with a retractable ottoman. For a fully coordinated look new, there are all sorts of games to choose from Adirondack, such as those with matching bedside tables, footrests and the Ottomans. The wide armrests are perfect for holding drinks or books, and it's really not surprising that this traditional form of outdoor furniture is still popular today. An Adirondack chair is the perfect place to relax and unwind on a sunny day
